Changelog
Craterborn · beta v0.3.13
Every game update, newest first. The same list opens in the game when you click the version number on the start screen.
beta v0.3.13
5 October 2026
- The start screen now links to a guide, an FAQ and the changelog.
- Terms change (section 5a) from 1 November: the Season Pass gives only looks and gems, and the full track returns half its price; a season may be extended.
beta v0.3.12
5 October 2026
- The September Season Pass now runs until the end of October; the new pass track starts on 1 November.
beta v0.3.11
5 October 2026
- Characters and monsters draw faster, so crowded fights run smoother.
- On weaker phones the game lowers world sharpness when it starts to slow down, then restores it once it keeps up.
beta v0.3.10
4 October 2026
- The crater ground is much lighter to draw, so the game puts less strain on your phone.
beta v0.3.9
4 October 2026
- On 120 Hz and faster screens the game keeps an even frame pace, without stutter on weaker phones.
- The first hit and the descent into the crater stutter less on weaker phones.
beta v0.3.8
4 October 2026
- On desktop the Season Pass scrolls with the mouse wheel: you can see every reward and claim each one.
- Stash, Character, Leaderboard and Settings on an upright phone are no longer cut off or squeezed.
- On an upright phone the fullscreen button stays in the town corner, and sound is toggled in Settings.
- The end-of-run screen always shows your loot.
- Pressing Space right after dying or extracting no longer starts a new run straight away.
- In a party the descend button shows readiness ("Not ready 0/2"), and a contract ready to claim sits at the top of the list.
- With a full stash Unequip, and a potion you cannot afford, now tell you what is missing.
- "Use code" checks the code first: a typo no longer signs you out of your character.
- Windows close with Escape, and Enter and Space no longer press anything under an open window.
- The whole Season Pass, Leaderboard and Stash work with a gamepad and keyboard.
- Reporting a player no longer comes with a pre-selected reason.
- When the browser provides no 3D graphics, the start screen explains how to turn on hardware acceleration.
beta v0.3.7
4 October 2026
- You pick a class with one button: Play as Warden or Play as Skirmisher.
beta v0.3.6
4 October 2026
- On iPhone, the full-screen button explains how to add the game to the Home Screen — launched from the icon, it fills the whole screen.
- A browser that is too old now says what to do instead of showing a Play button that does nothing.
- If a game file fails to arrive on a weak connection, the page reloads itself once.
beta v0.3.5
2 October 2026
- Picking a class on a phone held upright: the descriptions no longer hide under the button, and the label says what to do.
- The Descend into the crater button is visible on a phone held upright without scrolling.
- Tab names on a narrow phone no longer break in the middle of a word.
beta v0.3.4
1 October 2026
- The Play button works from the first tap, even before the game has loaded.
- Fixed an error that showed a red error bar and broke the crater view while a supply crate was dropping in.
beta v0.3.3
1 October 2026
- The game runs smoother on phones, especially in crowds of monsters and in combat.
- The game uses over ten times less mobile data.
beta v0.3.2
30 September 2026
- Combat: a killed player can no longer pick up their own cairn or strike from beyond the grave, an elite drops its swing when it loses its target, the Golem summons helpers once per fight, and a monster killed by a strong hit now falls and leaves a corpse.
- By the shaft, E acts on whatever is closer — the loot or the opening — and one press is one action. Caches no longer spawn right next to the shaft, and the Hunter again waits between the meteorite and the shaft.
- After losing connection the game reconnects on its own, and tapping Play twice no longer throws you back to the login screen.
- Party invites show on every town tab and no longer flood the screen, and you can no longer join a party from inside the crater.
- Gems for card and bank transfer payments now arrive even after a brief payment outage, one Google Play purchase goes to one character, and the pass and contracts reset at midnight Polish time.
- Double-tapping no longer sells or upgrades twice, B on the gamepad closes dialogs, and the game runs even with site data blocked.
beta v0.3.1
27 September 2026
- The meteorite chamber has a new layout: the meteorite stands clearly in the middle, flint and stalagmites gather in clusters, and an earlier expedition left its traces by the shaft. The first arachnid no longer waits right at the shaft exit.
- The way into the chamber is now a shaft with a winch and a lantern instead of a golden circle, and after the fifth minute ice seals it. In the chamber a beam of light and a rope ladder show the way up.
- The Hunter's set now also shows on your hero in town and on the end-of-run screen.
beta v0.3.0
26 September 2026
- A new town: tabs in a vertical bar, your character standing in the lantern light at full screen height, and sub-tabs instead of scrolling.
- A new run HUD: a compass with the exits, ring and event signs, a red vignette at low health, and an action button whose colour tells you what you can do. Other players no longer have an orange circle under them.
- A shaft to the meteorite chamber opens beneath the centre of the crater — until the fifth minute. The Hunter, a huge spider, lives there with five smaller arachnids. There is no extraction from the chamber: you have to carry your loot out through all four rings.
- The Hunter leaves a Hunter's Thread and sometimes a unique for your class — your first kill guarantees one. Every unique has its own trait, and in the Workshop you can weave a missing piece from 12 Threads.
- Once per crater the town drops a crate into T2 or T3. Whoever opens it keeps it.
- Elites and bosses charge their slams with their own element — magma, frost, turf, roots or shards — and anyone who gets hit is clearly caught in it.
- New models and animations: characters and monsters move more smoothly with a calmer stride, stand firmly on the ground, and every monster fights in its own way.
- The crater has real places instead of scattered rocks, stones sit in the ground, and the chamber has the warm light of its lamp.
- Hunger no longer touches the first ring and its better loot comes from monsters only. Plus clearer letters and digits and many bug fixes.
beta v0.22.0
20 September 2026
- Phone and gamepad: shots and swings snap to the enemy being aimed at, and go to the nearest one when there is no aiming. A ring at the enemy's feet shows where it will go. The mouse works as before.
- Phone and gamepad: marks by the character show the aiming direction, and a wider mark at the end shows how far the attack reaches.
- The terms and the privacy policy now cover buying gems in the Google Play app: Google is the seller there, and a refund takes the gems back. The change takes effect on 4 October 2026.
- Characters, monsters and objects cast a shadow of their own shape, and the round patches under them are gone.
- The outline no longer leaves dark blotches on the character silhouette.
- The coloured bar between a picked-up item and the character is gone.
- The Landslide event has been removed — ring T4 is no longer buried.
- Boulders no longer stand on evacuation pillars, and caches no longer sit inside stones.
- Running around an obstacle is no longer faster than plain running.
- Killed monsters no longer get up for a moment before disappearing.
- Hints shown in the city no longer hide behind the city screen.
- On a phone the expedition status sits next to the descend button instead of above it — contracts got that space.
- The party and friends window scrolls on short screens, so the close button can be reached.
- In the settings, keyboard, phone and gamepad controls now sit one under another.
- The settings and the stash no longer end right at the edge of the screen.
- Signing in to the same account on a second device closes the previous one — you can no longer meet yourself in the crater.
- The buy-gems button in the browser now appears only when buying actually works.
- The game now opens in English by default. Polish is one click away on the login screen, and a language once chosen stays for good.
- Players who do not pick their own name now get one in their own language.
- Characters, monsters and item icons now catch stronger light: shapes read more clearly, and the lit side is warmer than the shadow.
- From 4 October gems on the website are sold by Sold through Link (Stripe) instead of Lemon Squeezy. Card statements show the LINK.COM* prefix, and a refund takes the gems back — the same as in the app.
- Long names on party cards now fit in full.
beta v0.21.2
19 September 2026
- When you go deeper than your level allows, the game tells you right away that the ring is burning you and to head back up.
beta v0.21.1
19 September 2026
- Start screen: one "Play" button — you get a name right away and can pick your own if you like.
beta v0.21.0
18 September 2026
- New in settings: a Gem Rush notification — at 18:00 (Polish time) your phone or browser reminds you. You switch it on and off yourself.
beta v0.20.13
18 September 2026
- Google Play app: the browser bar disappears after the first tap.
beta v0.20.12
18 September 2026
- Settings now show a line of technical details — handy when reporting a problem on your phone.
beta v0.20.11
18 September 2026
- The §, − and ★ characters in the game font.
- The open-party list counts seats out of three, not four.
beta v0.20.10
18 September 2026
- When someone nearby extracts their loot, you see and hear it: a burst over the pillar, the siren and their name.
beta v0.20.9
18 September 2026
- New "Music" switch in settings: turn the theme off, keep the effects.
beta v0.20.8
18 September 2026
- Levelling up mid-run: a notification, a sound and a golden burst over your character.
beta v0.20.7
18 September 2026
- Google Play app: fullscreen and landscape on every screen, the town included.
- On phones the crater no longer turns to portrait.
beta v0.20.6
16 September 2026
- Skirmisher on phones: the ability fires every time you lift your finger and flies where you dragged.
- The Google Play app stays in fullscreen.
- Phones: no more flicker when the system bars slide in for a moment.
beta v0.20.5
16 September 2026
- New logo: a lantern over the crater in place of the “O”, the same lantern as the app icon.
- Game font: round letters and digits now match the rest; the “B” has no gap.
beta v0.20.4
15 September 2026
- English version: item rarity on the run summary, the extraction progress bar and the message after drinking a potion now read correctly.
beta v0.20.3
15 September 2026
- On Android the crater turns the screen to landscape by itself, even with rotation lock on. The “Turn your phone sideways” screen explains where to switch rotation lock off on other phones.
- When the phone briefly takes graphics away from the game (a broken fullscreen, switching tabs), characters come back as models. They used to stay as arrows until the page was reloaded.
- A tab opened before an update loads the new version of the game by itself when you return to town. Your character stays logged in.
beta v0.20.2
15 September 2026
- The Ashfall Cloak and the Lanternward Plate cape now hang from the shoulders behind the back and are open at the front. They used to wrap the whole character and looked like a tube or a skirt.
- Monsters in a Hunger crater now run smoothly. They used to keep gliding along the ground with their legs still.
beta v0.20.1
15 September 2026
- The Lanternward Plate from the season pass has been reworked: sky-blue plate with gilding, huge pauldrons, a cape that sways as you move and a medallion with a glowing lantern.
- The Ashfall Cloak from the season pass has been reworked: a pointed hood, a smouldering coral hem, wraps and a sash, and the cloak sheds ash as you run.
- Other players see the light of both outfits too — in enemy or party colours, like the rest of the character.
beta v0.20.0
15 September 2026
- Weekly leaderboard: the same boards as before, counted from Monday 00:00 Polish time. Switch between "This week" and "All time", and see how long the week has left under the board.
- The weekly podium on the loot, extracted and bosses boards gets 30, 20 and 10 gems. An equal score is an equal place and an equal reward. The kills board has no rewards.
- Gems land in your account automatically when the week ends, and the game tells you about them when you enter town.
- The terms (5a) list the weekly leaderboard podium as a new source of gems.
beta v0.19.1
15 September 2026
- Fixed: characters created since version 0.18.0 were disconnected when changing a title, outfit or companion, and when claiming such a season pass reward.
beta v0.19.0
15 September 2026
- Crater events: every other crater gets one event. The game announces it when you enter, and down below it shows under the ring label.
- Lantern Tide: for 90 s caches and monsters drop 30% more items on average. Caches glow gold while it lasts.
- Landslide: ring T4 is buried — no monsters or caches, and the rubble cannot be walked through or dashed over.
- Hunger: monsters are 20% faster (the boss is unchanged), and every item gets an extra roll for rarity.
- Gems from Gem Rush stay the same in every event.
beta v0.18.1
15 September 2026
- You can now delete your account without the game too: on craterborn.com/delete-account.html, with your character code. The page lists exactly what is deleted, and what stays and for how long.
- The terms and the privacy policy point to that page for account deletion.
beta v0.18.0
15 September 2026
- Entering without typing a name works for everyone: the game gives you your own name (e.g. Poszukiwacz4821). Previously a second player without a name got a "this name belongs to someone else" error.
- A taken name no longer ends your entry: the game fills in a free variant, just click "Enter the game" again.
- After picking a class the game goes straight to the crater descent, and the button glows until you go down for the first time.
- Your first run tells you the goal, how to open a cache and where to take your loot — with controls matched to keyboard, touch or gamepad.
- The privacy policy describes aggregate first-visit statistics: just daily numbers, no identifiers and no cookies.
beta v0.17.0
14 September 2026
- When many people are playing, the game picks a crater with players of a similar level: 1–4, 5–8 and 9 and up (just as the T3 and T4 rings open). A newcomer then does not land in a crater full of veterans.
- When few people are playing, nothing changes: everyone still goes down into one crater, so you meet other players.
beta v0.16.0
14 September 2026
- A dropped connection in the crater no longer ends the run: the game reconnects on its own and your character waits for you for 30 seconds. It is not invulnerable meanwhile.
- If you do not make it back in time, the run ends as if abandoned — and you will see its summary as soon as you next enter the game.
- Returning also works in a party (you stay in your party) and from another device: the game opened in a new place takes over the ongoing run.
beta v0.15.0
14 September 2026
- Reporting players: tap a name in the town chat or type it in Settings → Other players. The report includes that player's recent messages — only ones they really wrote.
- Blocking players: you won't see a blocked player in chat or in speech bubbles in the crater, and you won't get party invitations from them. Your block list is in the settings.
- A penalty always says why: a blocked chat or a suspended account shows the type of penalty, when it ends and the reason under the terms, with an address for appeals.
- New characters can no longer have obscene names or names posing as game staff.
- The terms and the privacy policy describe reports, blocks and penalties (changes in players' favour — in force immediately).
beta v0.14.4
14 September 2026
- A crater closing no longer reloads the whole town for every player — only the timer and the number of people below update.
beta v0.14.3
14 September 2026
- Gem Rush gems are no longer lost when you die with an empty backpack: a cairn holding only gems no longer vanishes, shows how many there are and leads you back to them.
beta v0.14.2
14 September 2026
- Scrollbars in the game's style: a slab in a recessed track that takes the lantern colour under the mouse — instead of grey system bars with arrows.
- In windows 900–1099 px wide contracts no longer hide under the descend panel, so their rewards can be claimed.
beta v0.14.1
13 September 2026
- Running is smooth again: since v0.13.0 your own character's animation reset every second — the lean snapped upright for a moment and the trail sparks vanished.
beta v0.14.0
13 September 2026
- Gem Rush: every day from 18:00 to 21:00 Polish time each defeated elite drops a gem and the boss drops two. Gems count only once you extract — if you die, they stay in your cairn for anyone.
- The Run tab has a Gem Rush card counting down to the start or the end, and in the crater the gems you carry show in the backpack panel.
- Gems for ads: in the Season Pass tab next to "Buy gems" — 5 gems for an ad watched to the end, up to 5 a day (when ads are available).
- Burning in a ring above your level now shows animated models in the game's style — a crown of flames around your legs and flying embers — instead of a flat drawing.
- The terms and privacy policy now cover gems earned in the game and ads.
beta v0.13.0
13 September 2026
- Boss and elite slams are back to how they were: a 1.2 s wind-up for the boss and 0.9 s for elites, reaching 6 m and 4.2 m. You can't just walk out — you need a well-timed dodge.
- Upgrading to +5 also takes a Golem Core. The upgrade ladder shows every material needed.
- Arrows fly exactly where the cursor points — sideways shots used to go above the crosshair.
- Burning in a ring above your level is now visible: Glimmer flames at your feet, embers, damage numbers and a sizzle instead of a jittering character. Others can see burning players too.
- Leaderboards drop the level board — the whole top ten sat on the same level anyway.
- Phone in landscape: in the stash, Marks, potions and the section switch fit in one row, and item cards are no longer cut off.
beta v0.12.0
13 September 2026
- The snow tiger sways its rump instead of sliding its front from side to side.
- In English, gem prices show as an approximate euro amount, with a note that the checkout gives the final amount in your currency.
- Gamepad: the hint bar has a background and a drawn D-pad, hides while the chat is open and on short phone screens, and the selected button no longer hides behind it. Gear for another class no longer suggests "A Equip", and the run summary no longer promises tabs it doesn't have.
- Phone held upright: the sound, fullscreen and chat toggles sit above the tabs, so tab names are no longer cut off.
- On a short login screen the logo no longer slips past the top edge.
- Updated terms and privacy policy: chat rules (in force from 27 September 2026), a clear note on losing loot when you die or disconnect, currencies at checkout, and what data Lemon Squeezy receives.
beta v0.11.0
13 September 2026
- Chat: press Enter or tap the bubble in the corner. In the crater you talk to everyone in that arena or to your party, and your message also shows in a bubble over your character. In town — to the whole town or your party.
- Leaderboards and stats in a new star tab: player kills, best run, total extracted, bosses and level — plus a card with your own numbers.
- The crater shows who killed whom, with each player's kill-rank star. The same star sits next to your name in the menu.
- A live online player counter in the Run tab.
- Pick your language with flags right on the login screen.
- The English version no longer slips into Polish: refusals and confirmations, the reason a run ended, the boss bar, the run summary and gamepad hints.
- On a phone held upright the game asks you to rotate again, instead of showing a HUD piled on itself.
beta v0.10.0
13 September 2026
- Insurance and the Exchange are gone: you own nothing until you bring it back. Marks you spent on them have been refunded.
- When you die, your whole backpack stays in the crater — and anyone can take it right away, not just you.
- With a full backpack, a body lying at the exit no longer blocks extraction.
- Fighting a player closes the no-PvP zone for 12 seconds: a counter at the top of the screen, the border glows red, and a dodge stops right at the line. Every new hit restarts the count.
- Three elites each in rings T2 and T3 (there used to be one and two), spread out so two of them don't jump you at once. Packed Turf is no longer the rarest material.
- Higher upgrades cost more materials: +3 takes 2, +4 takes 3, +5 takes 4.
- Affix reroll: instead of typing the stat name, you pick the affix from a list that shows its current value.
- Skirmisher: the ability is now Volley — five arrows fanning out. Up close several hit the same target, from afar each finds its own. On phones the aim preview shows the whole fan.
- You can walk out of boss and elite slams: longer wind-up (boss 1.6 s, elite 1.4 s) and a smaller area (4.4 m and 3.5 m). Before, without a dodge ready they were a guaranteed hit.
beta v0.9.1
13 September 2026
- Security fixes: a single broken connection can no longer take the server down for everyone, and flooding it with connections is much harder.
beta v0.9.0
13 September 2026
- No more stutter in fights: every hit used to rewind the picture for a split second.
- On a weak connection you no longer see the world as it was seconds ago — always the latest state.
- The game uses about 40% less data.
- Ability cooldowns show on the button again.
- Elites and the boss no longer play their wind-up twice.
- Dodging no longer cancels the boss's slam — you have to get out of the telegraph, not interrupt it.
- If someone opens a cache before you, you find out right away instead of after a full bar.
- Playing solo, you can go back for your loot — the crater with your cairn no longer vanishes right after death.
- A party member who dies comes back at a normal spawn point, not next to the party.
- Players below and the crater timer in the menu update live.
- The menu fits a phone screen without scrolling — in portrait and landscape.
- The season pass scrolls sideways, and the stash has sections: Items · Workshop · Upgrades.
- The crater HUD is smaller on phones, with action buttons tucked into the corner.
- Notifications no longer cover the fight: at most two at a time on a phone.
- Cooldown dials are gone on phones — the button rims already show the same thing.
beta v0.8.1
8 September 2026
- Fixed: killing an elite or the boss could kick every player back to the login screen.
- Crafting materials from the crater now actually reach your stash — they used to vanish.
- A full backpack no longer stops you from picking up materials.
beta v0.8.0
8 September 2026
- The game is in English — the language is picked for you and can be changed in settings.
- Season pass: thirty levels from contracts, a class outfit, a companion, a title and a salute over the exit.
- Gems to buy the pass with. They never buy gear or stats.
beta v0.7.0
7 September 2026
- Crafting: elites and the Mossy Golem drop materials for upgrading gear.
- Break down unwanted items for materials, and reroll a single item stat.
- Delete your account from settings.
